Chairman and interim CEO
Berg became Chairman in late 2008 and assumed the interim CEO role in June 2012.
Additionally, Mr. Berg is Chairman and chief pilot of Surfline Inc, the world’s largest digital media property in the surf and marine space. In 1999, he co-founded Swell, a direct marketer of surf apparel and accessories, which was sold to Billabong in 2009 and is the cornerstone of their e-commerce efforts. Berg assumed a leadership role on the Board and as an owner in late 2006 and reconfigured the Board and team.
Between 1995 and 2000, Mr. Berg was Chairman of AccentHealth, a network that provided segmented, patient education-oriented TV programming to over 10,000 medical waiting rooms. Berg was the head cheerleader and financier during a period when the company grew from less than 100 locations to over 10,000. The company was one of the early success stories in the out-of-home media business and has been through several successful transactions. Mr. Berg has over 20 years experience as a professional investor, having founded Matador Capital Management in 1993, and before that working for 9 years at Raymond James Financial as an institutional securities analyst.
From 2000 to 2006 Berg was on the Board of Surfrider Foundation,and has experimented with solar systems and windmills since the early 90s.
He pilots an Aero Commander throughout the Caribbean, Central America and Baja in support of Surfline’s R&D and quality control programs.
Chief Financial Officer
NTN Buzztime, Inc Board of Directors appointed Kendra Berger as Chief Financial Officer and Secretary in August 2006. Kendra served on Buzztime’s Board of Directors and as Chairperson of the Audit Committee from July 2005 until August 2006. Before she joined Buzztime, she was the Executive Director of Finance and Controller of Nventa Biopharmaceuticals Corporation, and was the Vice President, Finance and Controller of Discovery Partners International, Inc., both publicly traded companies.
Prior to her position with Discovery Partners in 2001, Kendra was the Chief Financial Officer of NTN Buzztime, Inc.
Kendra serves as Board member and Treasurer to the San Diego Council of Girls on the Run and Board member of the Chloe Nichols Foundation.
Kendra Berger is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and graduate of Ohio University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a double major in Accounting and Pre Law.
When she’s not working, you can find Kendra either running, cycling or swimming.
Chief Product Officer
Vladimir Edelman joined Buzztime as Chief Content Officer in February 2011 with more than 16 years of experience in digital content & marketing. In this role, Vlad will guide and improve the company’s current programming, develop innovative and interactive on-air content, and create a contagious and addictive experience for Buzztime’s players. Additionally, he will be tasked with leading player marketing with the goal of creating a long-term relationship between the company’s players and its bar and restaurant customers.
Vlad brings a wealth of experience in marketing, product, and partnership development to Buzztime. Vlad joined Buzztime from envIO Networks, a start-up focused on real-time behavioral targeting using social content-consumption data, where he was Chief Marketing Officer.
Prior to envIO, he founded and was the Chief Executive Officer of Ansible, Interpublic Group’s mobile marketing agency. Past engagements include Chief Executive Officer of technology platforms provider Soapbox, Chief Marketing Officer at WPP’s iconmobile, Vice President & General Manager for Mobile Worldwide at ESPN, and Executive Producer and General Manager at CBS.com.
Edelman holds an M.S. in Financial Journalism from Boston University, and his written work has appeared in the Boston Globe, Psychology Today, Inc., Spy, and Playboy. He enjoys music and cooking.
Chief Marketing Officer
Barry Chandler joined Buzztime as Chief Marketing Officer in January 2013 with 19 years of experience in hospitality services. Barry will drive Buzztime’s marketing services and platform for the benefit of its clients. He will lead all the company’s marketing efforts with special focus on content marketing and social media.
Barry founded Ireland’s first and only online business-to-business consulting website for the hospitality industry. He also founded Chandler Interactive, a Columbus, Ohio based agency created to help restaurants and bars attract more customers through the latest advances in marketing technology. Buzztime acquired Chandler Interactive, including its media properties, www.thebarblogger.com and www.manageyourbar.com.
Prior to Chandler Interactive, Barry spent four years with Cunard Line and the Yachts of Seabourn as the youngest food and beverage controller in the history of the cruise line industry. Afterwards, Barry pursued an advanced diploma in International Food and Beverage Management in Salzburg, Austria.
Chief Revenue Officer
Kirk Nagamine joined Buzztime as Chief Revenue Officer in April 2013 with over 20 years of executive management experience. Kirk will be responsible for the direction and management of the sales force and its operations and will drive the Company’s achievement of its customer acquisition and revenue goals.
Prior to joining Buzztime, Kirk spent the last decade developing loyalty technologies used by small business and Fortune 500 companies alike. His experience also includes serving as Senior Vice President for Fanfare Media Works, Inc., Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Entertainment Publications, Inc. and Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sidewalk.com.
Kirk has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California.
When he’s not working, Kirk enjoys golf, racquetball, coaching kids, travel, food and wine.
